Lenovo ZUK Z1 was launched in August of 2015 and is available only online. It’s a nice phone with great battery life, good memory capacity and of course the good connectivity features. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 is a mid price range phone whose closest competitors are Moto G4 Plus, Redmi Note 3 and Lenovo’s own – Lenovo K4 Note. Let’s see what Lenovo ZUK Z1 has got to offer in a bit detail.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has IPS capacitive touchscreen that supports multi touch up to 5 fingers. The screen resolution is 1080p (Full HD). The pixel density is 401ppi and the screen size is 5.5inches. For protection, there absolutely nothing – you’ll have to rely on a temper glass. The display is good even in bright light conditions, the only drawback being the absence of protection.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has 155.7 x 77.3 x 8.9 mm dimensions. The device is surely not the thinnest but it’s something that can be overlooked. Lenovo ZUK Z1 comes with metal frame and that makes the device a bit heavy – it weighs around 175grams. Lenovo ZUK Z1 also supports dual SIM. Build is premium but the weight is maybe something that one can feel if he has been using light weight phones for a while.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a 13MP primary camera with features like optical image stabilization (OIS), autofocus, dual LED flash. The phone has an 8MP secondary camera. Both the cameras has the same aperture size of f/2.2. This is the aperture size of almost all the good phone cameras. It’s good enough to take in light during low light conditions and give you better quality images. Other camera features are geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and panorama.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a four arm Krait processor with each arm clocked at 2.5GHz. For the GPU purpose, it uses the Adreno 330. Lenovo ZUK Z1 has all this embedded on a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset. Coming to the operating system, Lenovo ZUK Z1 has Android v5.1 that is upgradable to Android v6.0. The AnTuTu benchmark score for this device is 43088. This is fairly a good score.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has 64GB of internal memory and 3GB of RAM. The memory size is not expandable, which is a major drawback and this phone comes only in one variant of internal memory of 64GB. So it can be a big challenge for people who need a lot of space.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a mighty 4100mAh battery that lasts for around 526hours of 3G standby and 38hours on 3G talktime. Important thing to note here is, the battery is not removable. Lenovo ZUK Z1 has the fast charging feature, so you’ll easily be able to charge a big chunk of your battery in no time.
Lenovo ZUK Z1 has sensors like fingerprint scanner, compass, proximity, gyro etc. It has Bluetooth v4.1. For the navigation purpose, it uses GLONASS. Coming to the USB port, Lenovo ZUK Z1 has a USB v3.0 port.
