Yet another Lumia graces the market. Word has it that the Microsoft Lumia 535 Dual SIM is no different than its predecessors. With the same effortless reliability, affordability and sensibility in design and build, the major upgrade featured on this model is the boost in screen size. From a user’s perspective, the resolution is definitely a boost from the Lumia 535 DS’ predecessor: the Lumia 520.
Unlike traditional color schemes that all phones come in, the Lumia 535 comes in a slew of colorful shades that are highly appealing. These shades are bright orange, cyan, solid white, dark black and vivid green. The 5 inches screen comes in a 540x960 resolution. Despite the not-so-grand resolution, the expanded screen size allows for easier and better navigation while browsing, messaging, streaming or even video calling – a key feature of the gadget.
Packing a 3.5mm jack, the right side of the gadget hosts the power key as well as the volume navigation buttons. The Microsoft logo at the back and the LED flash is two new additions to the model that previous versions lacked. Optimized for video conferencing and calling, the front facing camera is accompanied by a slit at the top for the earpiece while calling. The bottom of the frontal region incorporates a second slit for the mouthpiece and ease of communication while calling.
The glossy matte plastic covering gives the Lumia 535 a unique appearance that is quite unlike any of its contenders. Prying the back cover open reveals the two micro SIM compartments (which by the way are not hot-swappable) as well as the microSD memory card slot.
With many claims being raised about the camera of the Lumia 535 being that of the Lumia 520, this model does feature an upgrade in the shape of a front facing secondary camera. The front camera comes in the exact same megapixels as the primary back facing one. The high resolution wide angled selfies camera is similar in nature to the Lumia 735.
The CPU upgrade is definitely one worth mentioning. The addition of a couple more cores boosts the performance by a mile. 1.2GHz quad-core cortex A7 alongside a 1GB RAM balances out evenly to grant user’s with commendable performance.
Another commendable feature is the support of multi-touch that many lower end smartphones do not provision. In comparison to its competitors at the shallow end of the pool, the Lumia 535 surely does provision users with a run for their money.
Conclusively, it can be correctly assumed that the Lumia 535 packs all the best features from its former Lumia series smartphones. True, there are some novel features to the device, but, Lumia 630, 735 and 520 all have contributed some of their best features.
